Ceredigion distillery Open Day set to welcome whisky and gin fans
Award-winning Ceredigion distillery, In the Welsh Wind, is looking forward to welcoming visitors to its annual Open Day on Saturday, November 23.
An annual highlight in the distillery’s busy calendar, this year’s Open Day will be particularly exciting as bottles of the team’s highly sought after Second Release Single Malt Welsh Whisky will be available exclusively to buy in the distillery shop. In the Welsh Wind Distillery is located on the west coast of Wales, five miles north of Cardigan.
Distillery founder and owner Ellen Wakelam said: “While the distillery is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, the Open Day is an opportunity to really focus on visitors and showcase what we’re about.
“There’s always a buzz for the whole day and we love talking to people about what we’re doing here. We’re especially excited to have some of our Second Release Single Malt Welsh Whisky available.
“Our online pre-sale recently sold out, however, we specifically reserved bottles to have them available to visitors to the Open Day. We’ll be selling these on a first-come first served basis!”
Tours are free and run on the hour throughout the day starting at 10am. The bar will be open serving mulled gin and rum alongside the distillery’s range of spirits and samples will be available of most spirits, with an opportunity to take advantage of special offers in the shop.
In addition, the distillery is happy to announce that local producers Tarten will be on site with their trailer, serving hot and cold soft drinks and cakes, as will Maggie and Mo’s Handmade Pizzas.
There is parking onsite and disabled access. To find out more visit the distillery website www.inthewelshwind.co.uk. Distillery tours are free on the day and there is no need to book, but if visitors do wish to register for a tour in advance, they can do so at https://inthewelshwind.co.uk/collections/experiences/products/distillery-open-weekend
Unfortunately, booking on a tour does not guarantee the availability of a bottle of the whisky!
