Charity Working To End Homelessness Supported By Amazon Team

A charity working to end homelessness in South Wales has received a £1,500 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Swansea.

EMMAUS South Wales provides a home for as long as it’s needed to those who have experienced homelessness. The charity also provides meaningful work to residents, giving them the opportunity to make a positive contribution to their community.

The donation from Amazon Swansea will go towards the costs of providing accommodation, support, activities and training to help people rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness.

Christopher Law, General Manager at Amazon in Swansea, said:

“The team at EMMAUS South Wales works hard to support people who are making their way out of homelessness, and we’re pleased to lend them a helping hand with this donation.”

Darrell George, an employee at Amazon in Swansea who nominated the charity for support, added:

“I’m so pleased that Amazon has made a donation to EMMAUS South Wales. It’ll really make a difference.”

Del Jones, Chief Executive at EMMAUS South Wales, added:

“I would like to thank Christopher and the team at Amazon in Swansea for this donation. Every penny we receive goes towards providing a home, purpose and opportunities for those who need them. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of the community.”

The donation to EMMAUS South Wales was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
