From North Wales Security to tackling the worlds highest peaks, all in the name of charity
A former Corvus Security employee, ex-marine Sam Deen, who served in Afghanistan, and his partner, Daniela Kroulikova have taken on the physical challenge of a lifetime to raise much-needed funds for two charities which provide support to ex-servicemen.

Tackling the highest peaks in every continent, the couple’s gruelling challenge has already seen them tackle Mount Elbrus, the highest Mountain in Europe, Aconcagua, the tallest mountain outside Asia in South America and most recently the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro – already three of the world’s most challenging climbs, however the pair now plan to tackle Denali in North America, Puncak in Jaya, Australasia, Vinson in Antartica and finally, the world’s highest Peak, Everest.

Daniela is attempting to be the first and youngest czech female to complete this challenge in her national history. She was also the youngest and second ever Czech female to summit Aconcagua.

The couple thanked their sponsors, Bangor based Corvus Security, Craghoppers, Kilpi and Hortor Recruitment whose sponsorship has funded the equipment and expenses of the trip.

Sam Deen explained why the cause was so important to him and Daniela:

“Both these charities do outstanding work for those serving and veterans who need crucial help.

“The epidemic in our veterans community is suicide.  We want to raise awareness of veterans mental health by completing these 7 challenges – and in doing so, we will also raise vital funds for those who have sacrificed and for those who are still suffering.”

Andy Butterfield, Managing Director of Corvus Security added:

“Corvus Security often employ ex-servicemen because their training lends itself perfectly to a civilian security role.  However, this means that as an employer, we see first-hand the suffering than veterans continue to endure when they finish their service.

“I cannot think of a more worthwhile charity and applaud Sam and Daniela for taking on this incredible challenge for such a good cause.  While the four remaining peaks will be a huge challenge, I have every confidence that this great couple will achieve their goal of conquering them and look forward to helping them celebrate when they return.  It is an incredible feat and Corvus Security are proud to have the opportunity to sponsor them.”
