Day care services in Bridgend County Borough helped raise hundreds of pounds for the Alzheimer’s Society by holding a host of fun festive activities.

The learning disabilities and older people day service at Sarn and the specialist dementia service at the Bridgend Resource Centre both held an Elf day with games, costumes and cakes for sale.

Meanwhile at the Pyle Life Centre, further festive fun, including prize bingo, eating cakes and playing ‘chase the elf’ helped raised £106 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services and Early Help Jane Gebbie said: “Services such as these are vital to so many in our community and it’s great to see everyone having fun at this time of year.

“As part of an ongoing social care recruitment drive, we are encouraging more people to come forward to work in social care services. Within Bridgend County Borough, there are roles available in a variety of areas, from home care and reablement teams to young people’s services.
