They’re being invited to send delegates on a free course to help them train workmates to push towards the city’s net zero target.

The course – on October 25 – is being delivered by Swansea Council in association with Future Clarity.

Andrea Lewis, the council’s joint deputy leader, said: “SMEs and others will find this course useful in their journey to decarbonisation.”

The course – Towards Carbon Zero: Train the Trainer – is due to run at the HQ Urban Kitchen, Orchard Street, on October 25 at 9.30am. Guests can be from the business community or the third sector.

It aims to help SMEs plan for the future by showing staff how to train colleagues to save energy, reduce waste and cut carbon emissions.

It’s part of a suite of council initiatives designed to help businesses thrive as the council aims to achieve net zero by 2030. The council wants the city to be net zero by 2050.

The course is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
