Cllr Carys Jones appointed Cabinet Member

Cllr Carys Jones has been appointed as Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Planning and Community Cohesion for Carmarthenshire County Council at a meeting of the Cabinet today, Monday, 29 July 2024.

 

Cllr Carys Jones will take up the post from Thursday, 1 August, and takes over from Cllr Ann Davies, following her recent election as a Member of Parliament.

Cllr Ann Davies will continue as a non-executive Councillor for the time being.

 

Cllr Carys Jones was elected to Carmarthenshire County Council in May 2022 and represents the St Clears with Llansteffan ward.

 

In welcoming Cllr Carys Jones to the Cabinet, the Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Darren Price said: “I would like to congratulate Cllr. Ann Davies on being elected as the Member of Parliament for Caerfyrddin and thank her for her conscientious and excellent work over the past few years.

 

“I’m delighted to welcome Cllr Carys Jones to the Cabinet and look forward to working with her and build on the good work already achieved.”
