Could You Champion The Well-Being of Older People in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend?

Age Cymru West Glamorgan is looking for Trustees to help the charity champion the well-being and independence of older people in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend.

Age Cymru West Glamorgan supports thousands of people over 50 to live fulfilling lives, manage their daily living, socialise, and get access to information and advice. Most of these crucial services are supplied free of charge by the charity, within the community.

The group is keen to recruit volunteer Trustees to join its Board of Trustees, which plans and steers the strategic direction of the organisation and helps it to meet its priorities.

Connor James, Chief Officer of Age Cymru West Glamorgan, said:

“We are delighted to offer these voluntary positions to join Age Cymru West Glamorgan – a charity that has been working tirelessly for older people and their carers to support people in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend to live well in their later years. We know there is much talent out there, and we hope to hear from people who have an understanding of and an empathy with the issues that affect older people. It would be particularly useful to us if our new Trustees have professional experience in areas such as business, law, marketing or accountancy. But clearly it is important too that we take on someone who is non-judgemental, reliable, friendly and is a good communicator.

“We are proud to be a support and friend to older people throughout Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend and we would very much like to welcome new Trustees to the Age Cymru West Glamorgan family, who can think strategically and creatively, and in a way that helps us to achieve our mission. Please get in touch if you feel this role might be for you.”

Age Cymru West Glamorgan offers and Information and Advice service – supporting people to access the best advice on benefits and legal matters. It runs the popular Afan Nedd drop-in centre in Port Talbot, which bring older people together to enjoy friendship and activities. Age Cymru West Glamorgan’s Homecare Plus scheme delivers a range of practical services to help older people manage their daily living.
