A couple’s retirement from dairy farming on the Welsh border, where their family have lived for 46 years, has resulted in a dispersal sale on Saturday, February 11.

Having recently sold the 200-acre Bank Farm, Bulthy, Middletown, near Welshpool for Richard and Helen Fairbanks, auctioneers Halls are now organising an auction of 300 lots of farm machinery, implements and tractors.

Auctioneer James Evans, a director of Halls, is maintaining a family connection with the farm, as his father, Jim, sold it to the Fairbanks family in 1977.

“The machinery and implements are a typical collection of items associated with a modern dairy farm, as well as some interesting homemade items, a collection of small tools and some useful livestock equipment,” said James.

The sale, which begins at 11am, includes two New Holland four wheel drive tractors, a Kubota tractor M4072, a Richard Weston 10 tonne silage trailer, a Keenan feeder wagon 140, a Graham Edwards tri-axle livestock trailer and a Kuhn Axis 30.1 fertiliser spreader.
