Covid case causes temporary delay to some recycling and waste collections

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed that there will be limited delays to some recycling and waste collections this week.

It follows confirmation from the council’s waste partners, Kier, that around 10 members of staff have been told by the contact tracing initiative that they have to self-isolate as a precautionary measure.

As a result, crews and resources have been re-organised to ensure that collection rounds can still be completed.

Residents are being advised that Thursday collections for waste and recycling may be later than normal in the Broadlands and Bryntirion areas, while communal collection points may not be fully cleared until Saturday.

The council and Kier are keeping the situation under regular review, and will be issuing further advice. Every effort is being made to keep inconvenience to an absolute minimum in the meantime.
