Construction has now finished at a new homes development which has transformed the former home of ITV studios in Cardiff.

The last residents are moving into their new homes at St Lythans Park, off Harlech Road, Culverhouse Cross, with just six homes now remaining for sale.

Five-star housebuilder, Bellway, started work on the development in 2014 and has since built 224 homes on the 7.7-hectare site, which was previously occupied by ITV for 30 years.

Sales Director for Bellway Wales, Billie Oaten, said:

“We’re proud to have given a new lease of life to this site which has such a legacy attached to it.

“Already it is clear to see that a new community has formed at St Lythans Park with residents settling into their new homes.

“There’s a real need for new housing in the Cardiff area which we’ve been able to help meet at this development and we’re expecting to see continued high levels of demand at the two other developments we are building in the city.

“We are also proud to have made significant investment into local infrastructure and facilities in the local area which will benefit the community for many years to come.”
As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is contributing more than £1.5m to the local area, including over £600,000 towards education and £448,000 in transport contributions.

There’s a few final four and five-bedroom houses remaining for sale at St Lythans Park. Bellway is also building new homes in Cardiff at Highfields, off Church Road, Old St Mellons, while a new development is coming soon at Rhiwlas at Plasdŵr in Heol Isaf, Radyr.
