Day of eco-fun planned to celebrate Bank Holiday to celebrate Bank Holiday

To coincide with the release of Disney’s much anticipated ‘Little Mermaid’ remake, the Red Dragon Centre is hosting a day of eco-friendly family fun on Monday 29th May.

Between 12-5pm, the Red Dragon Centre and The Wildlife Trust will be joining forces to offer a range of creative, free activities.

Children will be able to contribute to the creation of an upcycled Mermaid sculpture, make marine crafts to take home, and meet the team from The Wildlife Trust to learn more about how we can keep our seas safe from pollution.

The Wildlife Trust will also have a number of virtual reality headsets for visitors so they can try out a dolphin dive experience filmed off the Welsh coast.

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager at Red Dragon Centre, said: “We could all being doing more to protect our oceans and hopefully by making these sessions fun, as well as informative, we’ll be able to inspire the next generation.”

Alex Griffiths, Wilder Engagement Officer, The Wildlife Trust, said, “We’re really grateful to Emma for reaching out to us and giving us the opportunity to lead our workshops with enthusiastic young people. Events like this are always a lot of fun and we’re looking forward to working with visitors to create eco-friendly artwork and hopefully teach them a little bit about what we can all be doing to better protect our oceans.”

The completed mermaid sculpture will remain in The Centre throughout half term so Little Mermaid fans can visit and take pictures.
