Dealmakers Awards shortlist success for Acuity Law

Cardiff Bay

Leading commercial law firm Acuity Law is celebrating after being shortlisted for a record seven awards in this year’s Wales Dealmakers Awards.

The event will celebrate the top acquisitions, funding deals and buyouts across the country in the year to March 2022, as well as the people and firms that made them happen, with the winners named at a ceremony on September 29 at Cardiff’s Mercure Holland House Hotel.

Acuity, which has offices in Cardiff, Swansea, London and Bristol, has been shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year, with Partner Christian Farrow nominated for Dealmaker of the Year, and Associate Chiara Howfield recognised in the Emerging Dealmaker of the Year category.

Deals that impressed the judges include the acquisition of MSS Group by RSK Group, which is up for Deal of the Year, the investment in OBConnect by PayPoint, and the merger of MyPinPad with SmartPesa, which are both in the running for Small Business Deal of the Year.

In the International Deal of the Year category, Acuity has been shortlisted for its role in the acquisition of Lenstec Optical Group by EssilorLuxottica, and again, for its role in the merger of MyPinPad and SmartPesa. The firm is also in the running for the Private Equity / Venture Capital Deal of the Year after it acted as lead legal advisers to Warwick Capital Partners LLP on its investment in Eden Living, a new private rented sector business across South Wales and South West England.

Christian Farrow, Corporate Lead Partner, Acuity Law, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for no less than seven awards at this year’s Dealmakers Awards, twice being nominated more than once in the same category.

“To see our name so many times throughout the awards shortlist is complete testament to the talent and hard work of our teams across our branches.”

Established in 1999, the Acuity team has grown to more than 100 exceptional and instinctively commercial lawyers working throughout the UK, including 25 consultants shaping the business’ growing consultant community.
