Held at Denbigh Rugby Club, Working Denbighshire’s recent ‘Tackling Mental Health’ event saw local residents take some time out to relieve stress and learn more about how to tackle mental health.

The event was held to increase awareness, provide support, and promote mental wellbeing for Denbighshire residents, through engaging and enjoyable activities focused around Rugby.

A number of Rugby-themed activities were held, aimed at both seasoned players and complete newcomers to the game, giving everyone a chance to learn about the benefits of team bonding.

The morning saw a family and kids focus, with an all family activity and kids fun session.

Further activities and discussions were held to boost mental wellbeing and introduce valuable insights into coping strategies.

Many local support services were also on hand including Youth Service and Adferiad, to provide information about the free support available to them.

Liz Grieve, Head of Housing & Communities Service said:

“Mental health wellbeing is an important pillar to ensure a healthy employment.

This event created an important resource for residents to get the support they need, helping with employment services and signposting to support also.”

Cerian Phoenix, Wellbeing, Resilience & Soft Skills Training Lead at Working Denbighshire, said:

“At Working Denbighshire, we believe that wellbeing is the foundation of a thriving community.

This event wasn’t just an opportunity to learn and engage, it was a celebration of our collective commitment to fostering mental and physical health in the County.

We will continue to offer other similar events to encourage more residents to improve and learn more about their own wellbeing.”
