An event to promote the work of Bellway’s land activity in Wales was held in Cardiff – and it was also a chance to welcome the newest team member Elgan Daniel, who recently joined as Land Director.
The event, which took place at The Botanist bar and restaurant in the city in October, was the first of its kind to be held by the housebuilder’s Wales division. It follows the launch of the South West & Wales Strategic Land team back in July.
Organised by the land department at Bellway Wales, it provided an informal setting for representatives from both teams to meet agents and consultants to discuss current sites and future development opportunities in Wales.
Andy Backhouse, Managing Director of Bellway Wales, said: “As well as providing a useful networking opportunity with agents and landowners in Wales, this event was also the perfect time to welcome Elgan and our new Assistant Land Buyer, Jonathan Couzens, to the team.
“We are looking forward to seeing them getting started and bringing their land buying and managing expertise to the business as we look to add to our current land acquisitions.
“We are working closely with the strategic land team to deliver sustainable new communities to Wales, and this event typifies that collaborative approach.”
Bellway Group launched its strategic land business last year. The South West & Wales team has begun working with landowners and agents to plan new communities in the region in line with priorities set out in the local plans of councils.
The strategic land team work with landowners, specialist planners and local authorities to identify long-term development opportunities, while Bellway’s divisional land team continue to look for new, immediate opportunities.
