Poker Hands

• High Card

If you don’t have any Pairs, Straights or Flushes, you have the option to play your highest card within your hand, to go against players around the Poker table.

• One pair

If your hand contains two cards of the same value, this is known as a pair. An example of this is if your hand contains the Two of Clubs and Two of Spades.

• Two Pairs

When your hand contains two sets of pairs, this is known as Two Pairs. For example, if your hand had Ace of Spades and Ace of Hearts, as well as Five of Diamonds and Five of Clubs, this would class as Two Pairs.

• Three of a Kind

If you find three cards of the same value within your hand – for example, Four of Clubs, Four of Hearts and Four of Spades – this is known as Three of a Kind.

• Straight

When your hand contains all five of your cards in numerical order, but not from the same suit, this is known as a Straight hand. An example of this is – Five of Hearts, Six of Spades, Seven of Clubs, Eight of Hearts and Nine of Diamonds.

• Flush

When all your cards are of the same suit, but not in numerical order, this is known as a Flush. So, if your hand has Five of Diamonds, Nine of Diamonds, Jack of Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds and Ace of Diamonds, your hand will be known as a Flush.

• Full House

If your hand contains a pair of cards of the same value as well as three cards of the same value, this is known as a Full House. For example – Two of Diamonds and Two of Spades, with Eight of Spades, Eight of Hearts and Eight of Clubs.

• Four of a Kind

Four of a Kind is when four of your five cards hold the same value. For example – Five of Hearts, Five of Clubs, Five of Diamonds and Five of Spades.

• Straight Flush

A hand that contains cards in numerical order, all belonging to the same suit, is known as a Straight Flush. For example – Two of Hearts, Three of Hearts, Four of Hearts, Five of Hearts and Six of Hearts.

• Royal Flush

When you have a hand containing 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all belonging to the same suit, this is a Royal Flush.
