Farm estate seals new deal with iconic department store

One of the UK’s leading organic estates is deepening its relationship with the renowned luxury retailer Fortnum & Mason.
Rhug Estate, a 12,500-acre organic farm located near Corwen in North Wales, already provides its award-winning Wild Beauty skincare line to Fortnum & Mason’s flagship store in London’s Piccadilly.
Established in 1707, Fortnum & Mason is celebrated for its premium food offerings, luxury hampers, and exceptional service, making it a cornerstone of British retail.
Now, following recent discussions and a visit by Fresh Food Buyer Antonio Zoccola to Rhug Estate — one of only seven Welsh businesses to hold a Royal Warrant of Appointment from His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen — Fortnum & Mason will soon add Rhug’s renowned organic salt marsh lamb to its shelves.
Antonio toured the Estate’s café, farm shop, and processing facilities before commenting:
“It has been fantastic to take a closer look at the operation here, and to learn more about the environmental, organic and regenerative practices Rhug Estate is so well known for.
“We were particularly excited to extend the partnership as Fortnum and Mason is also a business focused on sustainable practices, animal welfare, quality and innovation – there is a real synergy.”
He added:
“We will be looking to stock the lamb at Picadilly initially, I’m sure it will be a big hit with our customers.”
Lord Newborough, owner of Rhug Estate, welcomed the expansion and looks forward to further collaboration with Fortnum & Mason, which will now join a list of international clients across the UK, Middle East, and Far East already enjoying Rhug’s premium organic meat products.
Rhug’s salt marsh lamb is raised on Tŷ Mawr, the Estate’s coastal farm near Caernarfon, managed by Deio Hughes and his family. The unique coastal habitat gives the lamb a flavour that is highly prized by top chefs around the globe.
“The sweet, delicate taste the salt marsh grasses produce, combined with the organic farming system Deio uses, produce a mouthwatering texture to our lamb,” said Lord Newborough.
“The meat is in season and incredibly popular, so we are delighted to now be supplying it to Fortnum and Mason and look forward to forging even closer links with them in the years ahead.”
