Final home under construction at new development in Sketty

Construction is nearing completion at a new housing development in Sketty, where the final home for sale is now being built.

Bellway Wales is providing a total of 73 homes at its Awel Y Môr development, off Lon Masarn, with all but one property now sold.

The home remaining for sale is the Walton house type, a four-bedroom detached property that features an open-plan kitchen/dining room and a living room, with French doors to the garden, a utility room, an en-suite shower room to bedroom one and a family bathroom. The home is priced from £332,995.

Although construction is coming to an end at Awel Y Môr, Bellway is planning to build more new homes in Swansea at Parc Mawr in Penllergaer.

Swansea Council last month (July) voted in favour of a hybrid planning application for the site, comprising outline plans for 850 new homes, a new school, play areas, outdoor sports facilities and allotments, alongside detailed plans for the first phase of 184 homes, although the final decision on the development will be made by the Welsh Government.

Dan Shone, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “We are coming to an end of construction at Awel Y Môr and delivering the homes planned for this site to meet the needs of local people. With the vast majority of homes now completed and occupied, we anticipate finishing building work in October this year.
