An innovative training provider in Swansea has relocated to a larger premises after securing a five-figure finance package from HSBC UK, allowing them to recruit an additional 12 members of staff.
Inspire Training, which delivers fully-funded training and consultancy to businesses and unemployed adults across Wales, has used the finance package to expand the business by moving to larger premises. The additional space means the company has been able to increase the number of classrooms from five to 12, accommodating an extra 100 students per year.
Inspire offers bespoke training classes, including vocational programmes with work placements, to the unemployed and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who feel uninspired to study at college or university. The company hopes to equip these people with the skills, qualifications and confidence to progress in a career and in their personal life.
Since its inception three and a half years ago, Inspire has gone from strength to strength, with two new contracts secured in the last 12 months alone from the Welsh Government. Along with the help of HSBC UK two years ago, this has increased the company turnover from £100,000 to £500,000 and forecasts suggest it will increase to £1 million by 2020.
Gavin Earley, Managing Director at Inspire Training, said:
“It’s been an ambition of mine to expand the organisation for a while and I’m delighted that with our larger premises, we’ll be able to support more people in Swansea and the South West, providing them with the tools they need to kickstart their careers and improve their personal lives. I’m especially excited with the prospect of opening a café on the new premises which our students will run. As an existing customer of HSBC UK, we can really see the lengths the bank will go to support and guide the development of a local business, and support us further to expand by opening further centre across Wales”.
Sarah Lucas, HSBC UK’s Regional Director for Small Business Banking, South West and Wales, said:
“As the company name suggests, Gavin and his team inspire young and disadvantaged people to make improvements to their lives and help them get on the career ladder. We’re proud to have supported them during their development and remains committed to the progress of local businesses in the South Wales region.”
Inspire Training provides specialist training and qualifications in literacy, numeracy, language and a variety of Level 1 traineeships.
