First time buyers reserve new home online at Cwrt Sant Ioan
A couple have reserved their first home amid lockdown after viewing the house over Zoom at Redrow’s Cwrt Sant Ioan development at Plasdŵr, Cardiff’s hugely popular Garden City.
After starting the search for their first home before lockdown, Anya Bowen and Glyn Chisholm Jones thought that their hopes of finding a new house would have to be put on hold as sites across the UK were forced to close.
However, the team at Redrow were able to help the couple continue their search by setting up Zoom meetings for the couple and their family, providing them with virtual tours of the properties as well as building plans and blueprints.
Following several virtual meetings, the couple were excited to reserve the three-bedroom Loughor house type at Cwrt Sant Ioan which offers a large and flexible space for family life.
After making the reservation online, Anya said: “Cwrt Sant Ioan is local to us and we know the area is a really nice one so that was appealing. The development itself is beautiful and boasts plenty of green spaces. As first-time buyers, we wanted to make sure this was a house we could stay in for a long time.
“Our experience, unusual and new we know, was amazing. Jodie the sales consultant at Cwrt Sant Ioan was accommodating to our schedules and let other family members join our Zoom calls to see building plans and blueprints when they were available. It was when we saw the building plans and blueprints, we knew we wanted to reserve the house.
“We had a hard hat visit over Zoom in which one of the site managers took us round and helped us measure walls and doors etc ready for when we move in. This was incredibly useful, and we can’t thank them enough for going that extra mile to help us reserve our house online.”
Cwrt Sant Ioan is the latest Redrow development to join the Plasdŵr community, which aims to produce 7,000 homes over the next 20 years in order to create a thriving place to work and live.
Plasdŵr is creating a world class community within a delightful country park setting, far from the congestion of the city, yet within easy commuting distance. A huge amount of planning and investment is going into Plasdŵr, including £40m for education and over £27m for transport improvements.
Danielle Richards, Area Sales Manager at Redrow South Wales, said: “It is great to see that this new way of viewing prospective homes has worked so well for both our customers and us. We worked hard to ensure that each potential home buyer felt confident with making a reservation online as we had to adapt to this new way of working.”
Redrow has also invested heavily in technology to enable a smoother virtual transaction. Through their My Redrow customer portal, buyers can view different developments and plots online, select chosen plots and even select and review optional upgrades to their home.
