Flags fly to honour the Armed Forces in Denbighshire

Denbighshire County Council marked Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day last week at a ‘Flying the Flag’ ceremony on Thursday.

Armed Forces Day, took place on June 29, and is an opportunity to support the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

Reserves Day celebrates their contribution to the Armed Forces and took place on June 26.

At the event, Cllr Peter Scott, Chair of Denbighshire County Council said: “Armed Forces Day is a nationwide celebration which allows people in Denbighshire and the rest of the country to show its appreciation for the contribution made by all those who serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces

“The contribution Reserves make to our Armed Forces often goes unrecognised, and today gives Denbighshire County Council the opportunity to recognise their most worthwhile contribution to our communities and our country.”

Welsh and English Armed Forces Day flags are currently being flown at County Hall, Ruthin.
