Gamlins Law crime team invests in new technology

The crime team at a leading North Wales law firm is investing in the latest technology, enabling them to meet the needs of clients across the UK.

Gamlins Law is now regularly being asked to act in high-profile cases not only in Wales, but also in major cities including Liverpool and Manchester.

Cases include more serious conspiracy offences including conspiracy to supply drugs, murder and fraud.

To coincide with its move to a new head office in Rhyl later this year, Gamlins Law will be establishing a dedicated video conferencing facility.

Dafydd Roberts, a Gamlins Law Director and Head of Crime, said: “The move to the new offices at Morfa Hall gives us the additional space to be able to create the video conferencing suite.

“Changes in the legal system mean that the ability to provide this kind of service is becoming ever more important. The pandemic has accelerated this trend.

“Having a dedicated video conferencing facility will be important for us as advocates and for our clients, reducing time spent travelling to court and speeding up the number of online hearings that can take place. We will be one of only a small number of firms regionally to have this capability.

“The criminal team at Gamlins Law is increasingly being asked to act for clients not only in Wales but also across North West England and, on occasions, elsewhere in the UK.

“We will continue to innovate and invest in our department to ensure we are providing the best possible service for our clients and also a modern working environment for our growing team.”

The six-strong Gamlins Law crime team also includes experienced solicitor Craig Hutchinson, who joined the firm at the start of the pandemic last year.

Dafydd, who is also a higher court advocate, added: “Craig is highly regarded across the region and has been a great addition to the team.

“We have plans to continue expanding the criminal department, particularly our Crown Court team.”
