There is still time to find that last minute gift and help out our local traders this Christmas.
A campaign calling on people to shop and buy local this winter is reminding shoppers to take advantage of the wealth of gifts and supplies on their own doorstep right up to Christmas and beyond.
The #LoveLiveLocal campaign encourages people to spend their money locally in Denbighshire, to encourage businesses to showcase their products or services on social media and to attract customers into town centres.
This year the campaign is also supporting sustainable shopping by encouraging people to shop local and reduce long car trips.
Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, Leader of Denbighshire County Council, and Lead Member for the Economy, said: “We want to remind people of the fantastic businesses we have in Denbighshire who work hard and who can really help with getting all the necessary supplies for Christmas.
“By staying local to shop, you can keep our wonderful businesses thriving and also play a part in lowering our carbon footprint.
“I’d would also remind residents to shop safely, to follow Welsh Government guidance, including wearing masks in shops, and to being courteous to our local traders.
“It is a difficult time for all currently and that’s why it’s important to highlight the #LoveLiveLocal message so we can all provide positive support from ourselves to our local businesses on the doorstep in our towns and villages that offer a wide range of products.
“Remember to give your local Denbighshire businesses a go in the run up to Christmas, and beyond, in this difficult time and #LoveLiveLocal.”
As part of the campaign the Council is sharing social media assets with traders and encouraging them to shout about their businesses online.
Shoppers can help by sharing great experiences and products on social media to let people know you have shopped local this winter and encourage others to #lovelivelocal too.
