Grant boost for North West & Wales sick children’s transport service
Maximus Foundation UK, the not-for-profit arm of Maximus, has awarded a grant of £2,500 to the North West & Wales Paediatric Transfer Team to continue their work transporting critically ill children to hospital.
The North West and North Wales Transport Service (NWTS) is a collaborative venture between Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The Maximus Foundation UK grant will be used to develop a simulation training area at the NWTS headquarters in Warrington. The training area will be utilised by all clinical staff and will cover topics such as coping with emergency situations and developing vital human factors skills, all with a view to enhancing patient experience.
The donation forms part of the Foundation’s latest round of dedicated fundraising to help local charities nationwide. The grant was awarded via a virtual cheque presentation by a Maximus Foundation trustee. Maximus Foundation UK has awarded grant beneficiaries totalling £542,000 since 2015.
