Gun exhibitors target Gunmakers Row at first GWCT Welsh Game Fair
More than 2,000 guns are likely to be on display in Gunmakers Row® at the first GWCT Welsh Game Fair at Vaynol Estate, Bangor from September 9-11.
Cheshire Gunroom has confirmed that it will be joining Vaynol Gunroom and Valley Arms at the event which is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors to North West Wales over three days.
In excess of 1,000 guns are already committed to the GWCT Welsh Game Fair and more exhibitors are soon to be announced for Gunmakers Row® – a registered trademark used only at official Game Fairs – in the coming weeks.
Sitting alongside the clay pigeon shooting line, which will provide a range of challenges from beginner to expert, Gunmakers Row® will feature tuition by BASC’s accredited instructors.
Visitors to the GWCT Welsh Game Fair will be able to try clay shooting, airgun ranges, archery and, by special arrangement, even rifle shooting in Vaynol Estate’s historic tunnels which are now operated as a pistol and rifle club.
Shooting in Wales supports 2,400 full time jobs and 2,900 businesses, generates £75 million for the economy and influences the management and conservation across more than 380,000 hectares.
In the UK as a whole, £2.5 billion is spent on goods and services linked to shooting which supports 350,000 jobs.
Fishing, gundog displays, game cookery, falconry, horses and hounds, food and drink and rural crafts will feature at the event, which will showcase the countryside, country pursuits and conservation.
A fantastic shop window for the Welsh countryside, the GWCT Welsh Game Fair will promote the unique culture and heritage of Wales, whilst also bringing together representatives from a range of conservation, farming, field sports and fishing bodies for debates on rural issues.
The event aims to foster greater communication and co-operation between rural and urban communities by promoting the benefits of country pursuits and conservation to a wider audience.
Leading Welsh celebrity chef and author Bryn Williams will also be creating a bespoke menu for guests at The White Park Restaurant in a VIP Enclosure and taking part in live, open-air cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend.
