Who doesn’t love beautiful hair?  However, in Summer, frequent trips to the beach, salty air and sea breezes along with heat from the sun, can combine to play havoc with the condition of your hair.   Here’s some tips on keeping your hair healthy.

Proper hair washing

Washing hair is a basic and obvious element of care. Surprisingly, few people do it properly. Of course, you should start by rinsing off any chlorine or salt – and by choosing the right shampoo.

Styling hair without damaging it

Hair styling is the element of care, which is the most commonly performed wrong. Few people know that hair should not be combed too often, especially when dry. In most cases (especially when you are dealing with wavy or curly hair), all you need to do is comb your hair with your fingers. However, if you decide to comb your hair with a brush, it is crucial to choose the right one, i.e., one that will not damage your hair. For combing, it is best to use brushes with natural bristles or with synthetic needles. They perfectly separate the strands without causing damage.

When blow drying, blow for longer at a lower temperature if you can, rather than applying maximum heat.  A blow dry spray can help protect your hair.

It’s important to avoid styling with too much heat, ideally leaving a straightener or curling iron for special occasions.  If you must use them, then use a styling spray to minimise damage, and don’t use at a very high temperature.  This type of styling can destroy our hair.

Nourishing your hair is the key to their health

The key to hair care is styling. Everyone has heard about conditioners; their use is also not complicated – simply apply after shampooing, leave for a minute or two, then rinse.
