Nobody or nothing is perfect but when you can, why settle for anything less?

Instagram is built to flaunt all sorts of aesthetics – beautiful pictures, amazing photography, awesome reels.

The list can go on and on and on.

Thanks to filters, these aforementioned things have been made possible. Editing images, adjusting lightness and darkness in photographs, adding texts, emojis, and audios are all fun and great to have in a social media platform.

Sadly, it leaves no room for ugly, undesirable, and boring content.

When that happens, either the user is entirely unconcerned of what their followers have to say, or that is the minimum standard of beauty they think there is.

Instagram filters are totally lit. It includes layout, color palettes, effects, and lots and lots of things you can do with your stills and reels. You have the freedom to customize, improve, and perfect whatever you wish to share to the Instagram world.

You can take your pick, maximize, and make such filters work to your advantage. There are three ways you can make use of filters when using Instagram.

Your Story

The idea is for users to be creative when posting a story. To come up with a variety of effects, emojis, and a number of different things an account holder can make use of to improve the quality of images or videos.

In fact, content can even be improvised by attaching an audio or a piece of music into it. Whatever would suit the mood at the moment something is about to be shared in the story, anyone can feel free to toggle around buttons and app features.

To be successful in using Instagram filters, simply tap on the camera and Create a New Story. Down at the bottom of the screen, swipe towards the left. Pick an effect. Do trial and error. If you think the first one is not good enough, pick another.

If it still doesn’t look nice, pick again. Repeat the process up until you think you found the perfect filter, and the most ideal effect. In order to choose, just continue swiping to the left. This has all been made easy for users. Ideally, Instagram has been designed to show the world the aesthetics of everything – from the beauty of a flower, to the rays of sunshine, to the smiles of the people, and just anything under the sun.

News Feed

Say you are about to post a new photo on Instagram about something worth sharing. It may be an important celebration or an achievement, a selfie or a get-together, a beautiful bag or shoes you have purchased. Anything that you want to share to the Instagram world, you can improve first before posting.

In order to post a filtered photo in Instagram through the News Feed, tap on the app. Once in the platform, press the plus sign at the upper right hand corner of the screen. This is usually following the Home and Message Icon. This will direct you to another page which shows Create New Post.

Now, you can simply drag and drop photos from your computer or phone gallery. Tick on one or multiple photos that you want to share. Individually edit and apply filters according to your liking.

Pick and apply, or change whenever you like. Once done, you have successfully posted an Instagram post with a filter.

Direct Messages

The latest syncing feature in most social media platforms, say Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook has shown almost similar capabilities for users, in terms of photo-editing buttons.

A dim photo can be improved by modifying the color or the theme. Ready-made layouts and hues are made available for anyone using the app to take advantage of. This is not limited to Your Story or Instagram Feed.

Even in IG Direct Messages, a user can edit and modify a photo or a reel prior to sending it to the target recipient. The steps are quite easy to remember.

Users have to simply Tap on the Instagram icon initially saved and installed in the device. It will direct the user to the platform where the airplane icon is supposed to be pressed next. Your Message page will then show up.

It will lay down previous messages sent and received, considering this is not the first the user would be sending a DM. Click on Send Message. Search for the person who you want to send the message to. Tap on it, then click Next where you can see at the upper right corner of the screen. You will be redirected to the message screen where on the left shows an emoji icon, the typing space, and the image icon before the heart button. Press on the image and you will be redirected to your gallery.

Tick on the photo you wish to send. Click edit and there you go, maximize the filter feature. Send once done.
