Iconic 1000M Welsh Peaks Race to Start at Aber Falls Distillery this Saturday
On Saturday 1st June, Aber Falls Distillery will act as the starting ground of the iconic Welsh 1000m Peaks Race.
The 50-year-standing mountain/fell race traces the North Wales coast, ascending steep valley slopes and over high summits, finishing at the very top of the highest mountain in Wales; Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon.
Perfectly located at the beginning of the race route in Abergwyngregyn, Aber Falls Distillery will host participants as they gather for the morning briefing and registration at 7.30am before they embark on their journey from 8.15am onwards.
Carole Jones, General Manager at Aber Falls Distillery, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the start of the 1000m Peaks Race, as it is such an iconic event in North Wales. We’re looking forward to welcoming contestants on their arrival and wishing them good luck as they start their race.”
The organisation is led by Kate Worthington, with support from many local volunteer Race Marshals and Eryri Harriers.
Kate commented: “I am really excited to be working alongside Aber Falls Distillery to provide a new and unique Registration/Start location for the race and the Distillery’s enthusiasm and support for the 2024 race has been greatly appreciated. More plans in the pipeline for 2025! Diolch yn fawr iawn.”
