Creative technologies (CreaTech) start-up, iungo Solutions, took home the Best Learning and Development / Organisation Development Initiative at the CIPD Wales Awards 2021.

The CIPD Wales Awards recognises, showcases and celebrates the “very best” in Human Resources and people development across Wales. Its Learning and Development / Organisation Develop Initiative seeks to recognise the strong links between achieving business goals and organisation development activity. The award commends those organisations that promote a culture of continuous learning, coaching, and managing performance, as well as innovative changes to the workplace.

iungo Solutions was recognised for its pioneering policy, ‘Everyone is an Apprentice’, which enables all employees to invest in themselves with an apprenticeship (without the terrible pay package). Employees are also encouraged to further their learning and development with additional training to help them excel within their respective roles.

The CIPD Wales Awards judges were impressed with how the policy brings learning and development to the forefront of employee experience and were “interested to see where it goes in the future”.

Araf Haq, Brach Volunteer for CIPD South East Wales and CIPD Wales Awards judge, said: “[iungo] demonstrated a very innovative and well-developed approach to an age-old issue blighting our youngsters… And they showed how well a company can intertwine its needs with the employee needs.”

After receiving the award, Jessica Leigh Jones MBE said: “Supporting our employees to develop themselves through apprenticeships, training and portfolio careers has helped them develop skills necessary for their roles, improved their employee experience, and encouraged them to give their all to our mission. The Everyone is an Apprentice policy has benefitted us, and our employees tremendously.”
