Schools across Bridgend County Borough are urgently seeking to recruit new staff who can join their catering teams and help prepare and serve meals for children.
With positions ranging from cooks to general kitchen assistants available along with flexible term-time working hours, a staff pension scheme and excellent rates of pay – e.g. £9.50 an hour for a general kitchen assistant – the vacancies are available at almost 50 primary and secondary schools.
Councillor Charles Smith, Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, said: “We have seen a huge increase in vacancies since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and have jobs waiting for enthusiastic people who like working as part of a team.
“The roles are designed to be flexible and are ideal for people who want to fit their job around other commitments, including younger people looking for their first paid after-school work.
“On-the-job training is included, and there are opportunities to study and gain further qualifications as well, so don’t delay – visit the council website to find out more.”
