New pop-up cafe at Three Horse Shoes pub

A cafe will be popping up on Wednesday 28th December, 10.00am – 1.00pm in the lounge of the Three Horse Shoes Community Pub.

Launched at Cefn’s community pub last month, the cosy Anvil lounge was packed with local people enjoying coffee, tea and freshly baked cake next to a roaring fire.

Anyone can drop into the monthly pop-up cafe for a cuppa and a chat.

Cefn Community Pantry and Chatty Cafe

The volunteers that run the pantry are taking a short break over Christmas and the weekly pantry will be returning on Tuesday 3th January at 1.00-2.30pm.

Starting next week the centre’s chatty café will be held at the same time as the community pantry. Anyone can pop into the Green Hall for a cuppa and chat or to buy a bag of food or both!

The big bag of food includes fruit & vegetables, family favourites, cupboard staples like tuna, pasta or rice are all included in the bags. Every week the bag includes a different selection. All food is fresh or within date.

The team would like to thank everyone that has made Cefn community pantry’s second year another successful one.

Christmas tree recycling

Real Christmas trees can be taken to your local recycling centre or Waterton Depot for recycling from Tuesday 3 January 2023.

Please ensure you remove all lights and decorations from your trees before recycling.

Please note, Waterton Depot will be open Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm. If visiting the depot on the weekend, please place trees on the grass verge between the two gate entrances.

Kerbside recycling collections over Christmas & New Year

Don’t forget waste and recycling collections due this week 26-30 December will be collected one day later than usual, until they return to normal from Monday 2 January.

Also, households can put out one extra waste bag for their first refuse collection after Christmas Day.

Kier will have an additional vehicle out to collect extra cardboard – if yours isn’t collected with other recycling, the crew will come back to collect it later.
