Limited Edition Chilli Sauce – Welsh sauce company makes just 35 jars of ‘very hot’ Scotch Smiler, a Bajan-Style Pepper Sauce
The team at www.pembrokeshirechillifarm.com turned to their social media followers recently to determine which OG sauce they’d like to see make a limited edition return, with chilli sauce fans making the call and a batch of the Scotch Smiler now on sale.
Scotch Smiler is a very hot, Bajan-style sauce from the Caribbean, made with Scotch Bonnet chillies, onion, mustard, garlic, ginger and curry spices.
Jalapeño Charmer is made by blending slow-roasted garlic cloves and red onion with jalapeno chilli, for a medium heat, sweet and sharp flavour.
With voting closed, the clear winner was the Scotch Bonnet and the team set to work to create a batch. Now stocked online, there are just 35 jars available to purchase for hardcore chilli sauce fans as BBQ season is now underway. Those who wish to purchase one (or more) can do so for just £5 a jar at: www.pembrokeshirechillifarm.com/products/scotch-smiler
This follows the recent launch of Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm’s first ever Black Garlic Ketchup – a sauce that contains a sweet & balsamic unique umami flavour. It’s made with fermented black garlic cloves, which get their brownish-black colour from an East Asian aging process of being placed in a warm, moisture-controlled environment for a number of weeks. This sauce takes 288 hours to make.
At just £6 a bottle, the Black Garlic Ketchup can be purchased at: www.pembrokeshirechillifarm.com/products/new-black-garlic-ketchup
Michelle Rosser, co-founder and Managing Director of www.pembrokeshirechillifarm.com, commented on the limited-edition chilli sauce:
“We’ve experimented with many chilli sauces over the years and some sadly don’t always stick around for very long, but we’ve been getting a lot of requests recently to bring back some of the OG flavours and we’re thrilled that people voted for Scotch Smiler – it’s a personal favourite of mine. While it’s a small, very limited batch, we know this will please the biggest chilli sauce fans – we just hope no one misses out.”
