Llesiant Delta Wellbeing has won the Not-for-Profit Business of the Year and achieved a Highly Commended in the category for Innovative Business of the Year at the prestigious Swansea Bay Business Awards 2025.

The awards, held at Swansea’s iconic Brangwyn Hall and hosted by BBC broadcasting legend Jason Mohammad, celebrate excellence and innovation across the region’s business community of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Set up in 2018 as a Local Authority Trading Company, owned by Carmarthenshire County Council, Delta Wellbeing has revolutionised the delivery of health and social care services through technology enabled care solutions.

The company’s emergency TEC monitoring platform facilitates on average over 1.5 million calls annually, and provides 24-hour support and services to more than 36,000 residents across Wales 365 days of the year.

Recent achievements include the company’s successful transition to a new digital platform, positioning it well ahead of the UK-wide analogue switchover scheduled for 2027. This digital transformation, in partnership with CGI, enables enhanced monitoring capabilities and improved integration with health and social care partners to provide better outcomes for its service users and making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Delta Wellbeing’s ground-breaking CONNECT service, funded by Welsh Government’s Health and Social Care Regional Integration Fund (RIF), includes a community response service and flexible support packages tailored towards an individual’s specific needs to help them live independently for as long as possible using the latest assistive technology. Identifying potential health and wellbeing issues at the earliest opportunity, it ensures the right support is provided at the right time, reducing demand on health and social care services. Working in partnership with Hywel Dda University Health Board and Carmarthenshire County Council, the service has evolved significantly with Delta Wellbeing’s hospital-based Blue Army staff who make sure patients are discharged safely and efficiently as soon as they are medically fit, freeing up hospital beds and alleviating pressure on statutory social care services.

The company continues to set industry standards, being the first service of its kind in Wales to be registered with Care Inspectorate Wales. Outstanding feedback in its most recent Care Inspectorate Wales inspection and TSA Quality Standards Framework audit, highlights Delta Wellbeing’s excellence in delivering person-centred care and technological innovation.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Services and Chair of Delta Wellbeing’s Governance Group, Cllr Jane Tremlett said: “It is an incredible honour to receive these prestigious awards, which recognise Delta Wellbeing’s commitment to transforming lives through innovative technology and compassionate care and reflect the dedication of the entire team who work tirelessly to support our communities.

“As a not-for-profit organisation, our focus remains on providing essential services to the most vulnerable, while reinvesting any surplus into social care.”

The awards are organised by the Llanelli-based JR event group in partnership with Bevan Buckland LLP and category sponsors – JCP Solicitors, Gower College Swansea, Sturgess Mortgage Solutions, LBS Builders Merchants, Development Bank of Wales, Morgan LaRoche, Castell Howell Foods, HSBC, Creative Swansea at Swansea Council and Tomato Energy.
