Meliden FC ‘The Miners’ now kitted out for all occasions
MELIDEN FC, aka ‘The Miners’, now has new training kit thanks to a two-year partnership with St Asaph based Castle Green Homes.
Players will look the part off the pitch as well as on, after Castle Green’s sponsorship deal paid for new tracksuits, polo shirts, sweatshirts and rain jackets for all of the squad and staff at the NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division side, along with sponsoring players.
Club Chairman Steve Boyle said: “We’d like to thank Gwyn Jones, chief executive of Castle Green for his support. We spoke with him back in April about the possibility of the company helping the club with some sponsorship and within 48 hours we had a deal. Gwyn understands how hard the current climate has affected clubs like ours.”
The club kicks off its 2021/22 season on July 10 with an away match JD Welsh Cup qualifying fixture against Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Castle Green’s developments locally include Cysgod y Craig, in Dyserth, and Cae Felin in Denbigh. It is also building Llys y Gadlas, on behalf of social housing provider Adra, in Meliden itself. The homebuilder is keen to support the communities in which is builds and recognises the importance of football and other sports in bringing people together.
“We’re delighted to be able to support Meliden FC. Grassroots football is such an important part of our community and, after what has been an unprecedented year of challenges, it is great to be able to make a positive impact,” says chief executive Gwyn Jones.
The HBF five-star rated homebuilder completed over 200 new homes in 2020 and has kicked-off an ambitious growth plan to quadruple output over the next five years.
