WELSH fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium will support the extension of a radical approach to living and working in the city of Swansea.

Working with Helix21 and Hacer Developments, Dudley’s will be working on the multi-storey extension of the commercial aspect of the Biophilic Living development.

Based at Picton Yard in the heart of Swansea city centre, the Biophilic Living project is a multi-use development, providing affordable new homes, workspaces and a community urban farm.

Biophilia represents an affinity between humans and the natural world, and the project incorporates this principle into the building’s design and development, aiming to integrate innovation, wellbeing and the community with nature in an urban environment.

The pioneering project is a first for the UK and has been awarded funding through the Welsh Government’s Innovative Housing Programme.

Dudley’s will be installing Aluprof doors, windows and capped curtain walling on the build.

Colin Shorney, Managing Director at Dudley’s Aluminium, said: “This is an extremely exciting and new type of project for our team to be involved with. With residential, commercial and community spaces establishing a cohesive relationship between urban living and nature, this innovative development could transform the way we think about inner city living. We’re thrilled to be a part of it!”

Since 1993, Dudley’s Aluminium has offered clients full in-house design and production facilities, completing many successful and prestigious projects within the education, health, commercial, retail, residential and defence sectors throughout the UK and Channel Islands.

Dudley’s reputation for quality has been recognised with several industry-related accreditations. The company is CHAS accredited, Constructionline registered and BM Trada certified to manufacture enhanced security products to align with PAS24:2016 and BS 4873.
