‘Badass Mother Runners’ based in Skewen, has been selected as one of 100 ‘most inspiring’ small businesses in the UK as part of this years Small Business Saturday campaign.

Small Business Saturday, which this year falls on December 5th celebrates small businesses across the UK and encourages the public to shop local, shop small & shop independent. A message that this year is more important than ever with so many retailers facing unprecedented challenges due to the Corona outbreak.

Badass Mother Runners, which sells a range of empowering sportswear for mums who like to run was founded in 2018 by marketeer & local mum of 2 Beverley Logan. The business started as a small ‘side hustle’ but has grown so much over the past 2 years it is now Beverley’s full-time job! With an ever growing online following and a range of merchandise that has already won several awards the future is bright for this small business.

Beverley, the founder of Badass Mother Runners said: “We are so thrilled to have been selected as one of the 100 this year, with record applications seen in 2020 it’s such an amazing achievement and we feel very lucky’

Among the other firms being recognised are a family run florist in Bristol, a beauty salon in Inverness, and a wine school in Chester.
Michelle Ovens MBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK, said:

“Congratulations to Badass Mother Runners for joining the Small Biz 100! This campaign highlights the amazing, positive impact small firms have on communities across the UK. Given the phenomenally tough time small businesses have had, and the special role they played supporting communities in lockdown, it’s vital we continue to support them as this crisis continues. This year’s Small Business Saturday is going to be the most important one yet, and were determined it will also be the best.”

Now in its eighth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday has grown significantly each year, with a record turnout of 17.6 million people choosing to shop small on the day last year, generating an estimated £800m.
