Neath Port Talbot Celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – and Invites Residents to Send a Message to the Queen

As part of the chain of beacons being lit across the UK to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, three LED Jubilee Beacons were lit in Neath Port Talbot.

These were at the Pontardawe Arts Centre, and at Neath and Port Talbot Civic Centres at 9.45pm on Thursday (June 2nd, 2022).

On 6th February this year, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, as well as lighting the beacons, Neath Port Talbot Council has opened a book of celebration to enable members of the public to send their congratulations and pay tribute to Her Majesty.

The book will remain open until 6pm on Thursday 30th June 2022.

Messages can be submitted either individually, or as a representative of an organisation.

All tributes will be reviewed before they are published and we reserve the right to remove any inappropriate messages.
