New bus shelter to be positioned outside Porthcawl Library

Passengers are set to benefit from a new bus shelter to be conveniently located outside Porthcawl Library in Church Street, Porthcawl.
Due to be installed on 8 May by Bus Shelters Ltd, the new shelter will be constructed just a few metres from the existing bus stop, where the footpath is too narrow to accommodate a shelter. In the proposed location, two bollards will be removed from directly outside the library so that the shelter can be built off the main pavement.
The 3m long shelter will include perch seating and full end, clear panels to ensure extra coverage for passengers waiting for the bus.
Cllr Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing, said: “This is welcome news for bus service users. We are all aware of the benefits of a shelter whilst waiting for public transport, including a place to rest, protection from the elements, especially in the seaside location of Porthcawl.
“The new spot will not affect the main footpath and offers space for safe manoeuvrability when the bus arrives. We look forward to this new addition to our public transport features in Porthcawl!”
