This year, the North East Wales Local Nature Partnership will be hosting the Bionet Awards.

The Awards celebrate the work being undertaken by local people, communities, organisations and businesses in North East Wales to conserve, protect and enhance biodiversity.

Bionet believes it is important to celebrate successes achieved for biodiversity. In the face of the ecological emergency, a lot of the news we hear has a negative narrative but there are lots of people making a positive impact through local actions.

The awards are split into eight categories to demonstrate how various actions can achieve a positive biodiversity impact within multiple different sectors:

  • Young Person’s Award
  • Community Group Award
  • Primary School Award
  • High School Award
  • Business Award
  • Biodiversity Friendly Development Award
  • Town or Community Council Award
  • Volunteer Award.

All application forms and guidance documents can be found here: Bionet Awards.

So go ahead and get nominating!  Deadline for all applications is 12pm on 28 October! Awards will be handed out at our conference in Venue Cymru, Llandudno on 24 November 2022.
