New home at The Woodlands Dinas Powys

The show home at The Woodlands, Dinas Powys

BUYERS hoping to put down roots at The Woodlands, Dinas Powys, will need to act fast – more than half of the homes have already been snapped up.

The Edenstone Homes development proved popular from the start, with five eager  buyers reserving “off plan” in late 2018 before the show home opened in January.

Demand has remained strong – with more than 50% of the private sale properties now reserved, exchanged or completed.

Location has undoubtedly played a part in the success of the development as it’s on a commuter route into Cardiff and as people see the homes taking shape it’s triggering further enquiries.

Adele McCoy, sales director for Edenstone Homes, explained: “Many of the enquiries we’ve received about The Woodlands are from people who pass the site and have been watching with interest as work progresses. As homes more are occupied that too has peaked curiosity, sparking further enquiries.

“Because of the demand we have been selling well ahead of the build programme and have been giving buyers the chance to make “early bird” reservations. This means that for a small deposit they have the option of first refusal when their preferred property is released for sale.”

Current availability at The Woodlands includes a choice of four-bedroom detached designs, with prices from £369,995.

The homes are being built using traditional materials, including red brick, render and stone, along with slate grey roof tiles, designed to integrate well into the surrounding neighbourhood.

Inside, the homes will boast a high specification with opportunities for buyers to customise their property prior to moving in, including selecting from a range of traditional and contemporary style kitchens. Bathrooms and en-suites will feature white sanitary ware from Roca and tiles from Porcelanosa.

As the development name suggests, homes are close to Shortlands Wood, with an abundance of walks and trails to explore on foot or bike.

The natural environment is also helping inspire the design of a play area that will feature natural slopes children can use as slides, plus timber play equipment.

Residents of The Woodlands will be able to embrace village living, including a range of independent shops, a supermarket, restaurants, pubs and a deli. There are a number of well-regarded schools in the area.

Cardiff Central is around 20 minutes away, including the short walk to Dinas Powys station; while Cardiff Bay and the historic seaside town of Penarth are also within easy reach.

A four-bedroom Farnham style show home is open daily from 10.30am to 5pm to give buyers an insight into the quality and finish of the properties at The Woodlands.
