A Swansea-based company at the forefront of ethical AI-driven technology is set to transform apprenticeship delivery, workforce development, and recruitment across the UK. Yondur, an AI-powered learning and career development platform bridging Deep Learn®Human Science (DeepLearn® HS) and Training Learning Company (TLC), has appointed John Allison as its new Managing Director. John will continue his role as Managing Director of TLC too.

This strategic partnership and leadership appointment marks a significant milestone in modernising apprenticeship delivery by combining Yondur’s AI-driven career navigation and learning technology with TLC’s established training expertise. Together, they aim to tackle the national skills shortages—particularly in technology, healthcare, and green energy—while providing inclusive and accessible pathways for learners of all backgrounds.

The UK faces pressing challenges in workforce and skills development with 9.7 million people lacking access to meaningful career guidance (Demos, 2023), and 53% of SMEs struggling to find employees with problem-solving and communication skills (British Chambers of Commerce, 2023).

Yondur’s AI-powered platform directly addresses these issues by matching individuals with apprenticeships, training opportunities, and career pathways tailored to their unique strengths and needs.

John Allison, Yondur’s newly appointed Managing Director, is a long-time advocate of its technology, having successfully integrated Yondur’s AI-driven tools within TLC’s apprenticeship programmes.

He said: “I’m delighted to be leading Yondur at such a pivotal moment. Having worked closely with the platform for years, I’ve seen first-hand how its adaptive learning pathways empower apprentices and employers alike. Every learner has a dynamic digital CV that evolves as they develop new skills and take on new roles—this is the future of recruitment, moving beyond outdated CVs and cover letters.

“The depth of support Yondur provides—from recruitment to skills training and end-point assessment—is the most comprehensive I’ve encountered in my career. But this isn’t just about young apprentices. The platform is equally valuable for older workers and career changers looking to reskill and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving job market.”

John’s leadership will focus on collaborating with local councils, schools, and employers to drive economic uplift, enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through data-driven hiring and training strategies, and combating hiring bias to improve business outcomes and unlock individual potential.

As an employer-focused platform, Yondur offers businesses a smarter way to recruit and train apprentices. Through skills-based assessments and AI-powered talent matching, organisations can identify the right candidates based on skills and potential, rather than outdated credentials, streamline recruitment and onboarding, which will save time and reduce hiring costs, and integrate workforce development into long-term talent strategies.

John also plans to launch a Yondur Academy, an interactive learning hub designed to deliver in-person training, mentorship, and career support to communities. The first Academy is already in progress at TLC/Yondur’s Swansea office, reinforcing the company’s commitment to accessible, community-driven education and career development.

Yondur is part of the broader Deep Learn®Human Science ecosystem, an integrated network of AI-powered solutions driving learning, workforce optimisation, and career transformation that works with global brands such as Coca-Cola, DPD, IHG, and ABInBev.
