A Swansea dental practice is set to significantly expand its services and patient portfolio after relocating to new state-of-the-art premises, with the support of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Supported by a six-figure funding package by Lloyds Bank, The Brynhyfryd Dental Practice has acquired and completed a six-week refurbishment of a former commercial office unit on Ysgubor Fach Street, Swansea.
The move is expected to boost the practice’s turnover by a fifth in its first year with the funding forming part of Lloyds Bank’s pledge to lend up to £1.1billion to support businesses in Wales in 2020.
Lloyds Bank supported the practice’s former associate and now managing director Dr. Gareth Crowther in acquiring the business in 2017 following the passing of its previous owner.
Under Gareth’s ownership, the new facilities will enable the practice to expand to up to four surgeries. Meanwhile, a new state-of-the-art decontamination suite will support future compliance as the business further expands into service areas including dental implants, facial aesthetics and cosmetic orthodontics.
Founded over 40 years ago, the practice is set to build on its already 2,000-strong roster of NHS and private practice patients in the coming months.
Dr. Gareth Crowther, managing director at The Brynhyfryd Dental Practice, said:
“After more than four decades of service, our previous facilities had grown rather ‘long in the tooth’ and were no longer able to support our plans to grow the business. It’s our ambition to provide high-end private treatments in keeping with the demands of our patients and modern society. By converting a blank canvas unit into a stylish and welcoming dental practice we’re able to do just that.
“The team at Lloyds Bank have been by our side since acquiring the business three years ago and have been instrumental in putting the conditions in place for us to achieve our growth plans to date.”
Suzanne Rees, healthcare relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said:
“In addition to traditional services, cosmetic dentistry continues to grow in popularity across Wales. Indeed, it is one of the key reasons why three quarters of dentists involved in our annual Healthcare Confidence Index expect to grow their profits in the year ahead and why we are working by the side of many ambitious practice owners like Gareth as part of our plan to help Britain prosper.
“The Brynhyfryd Dental Practice is a great example of a business investing to deliver future growth so we have every confidence that this new facility will add real benefit to patients in the local community.”
