Fast Growing Self-Storage Specialist Scoops Two More Business Awards

Newport-based Self-Storage expert, Storage Giant, has scooped its third and fourth awards of the year, by being named Business of the Year 2020 by the Business Growth Awards South Wales, as well as winning the Economic Contribution Award at the Business Growth Awards in Cardiff this month.

The company, which started life as a single unit concern at the onset of the recession, and is now a multi-million turnover business, was given these two most recent accolades at an awards ceremony in Cardiff, having already been awarded Best Commercial & Domestic Self-Storage Facilities – England & Wales, by Acquisitions International in 2020.

The awards come at a time when Storage Giant is planning to double its personnel, in light of a series of new site launches unfold across the UK, throughout 2020 and 2021.
The largest private self-storage firm in Wales, the company was established by Simon Williams in 2007, and it now has nine operating sites across England and Wales, with a further seven sites in its active pipeline.

Simon said:

“These award wins come during an exciting year of expansion for Storage Giant, which is unfolding across Wales, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, and the Midlands, where we already have a solid presence. The final fit-out for our Bristol mixed use scheme in Brislington is underway, with the official launch of that site imminent. More new sites will follow later this year and into 2021.
“I was pleased to be in such good company at the Business Growth Awards, with firms from a broad range of industries represented at the event – from financial services, big names in the leisure industry, business services and retail represented very strongly. It is clear to me that Wales is a hotbed of the entrepreneurial spirit, and our regional economy is in good hands – with business leaders across all sectors showing real ambition for their own success and for the continued success of the region.”

Storage Giant has thrived in recent years, with plans to significantly grow turnover in the next twelve months, has also been focusing in the past year upon adding space to existing stores, to meet demand. The company recently opened Phase Three Swansea, Enterprise Park site in January, which added an extra 10,500 sq ft. This year will also see the opening of Phase Two Telford, and Phase Two Cannock. Storage Giant offers self-storage for domestic and business clients, as well as low cost office space.
