Live in a luxury, iconic, art-deco development – without paying Land Transaction Tax

The Moorwell in Penarth is offering a unique living experience, where residents can benefit from a half price gym membership, no Land Transaction Tax and live in one of Penarth’s most historical buildings.

The development, sitting on Windsor Road, was once an auxiliary workshop in World War II, and then became Moorwell Motors in the 50s.

The Moorwell won Best Property Development at this year’s Cardiff Property Awards, and is a mixed-use development of 12 apartments, priced between £225k and £390k, situated over the new Anytime Fitness Gym.

Project 3 Developments, the property developer behind this, is also covering Land Transaction Tax for anyone that makes a purchase before the end of June, which is up to 5% of the property prices.

Ben Wells, Managing Director or Project 3, says:

“We have seen a significant rise in enquiries and viewings since the end of the most recent lockdown and have just sold the penthouse apartment. With the property marketing picking up, we expect to get more reservations in the coming days, especially with this new LTT offer to help buyers, which will save most buyers many thousands of pounds!”

Built in the 1920s, the Art Deco building has been a recognisable Penarth landmark ever since and a key feature of the town. This style has been used throughout the development, in common areas and within the 12 apartments and duplexes.

Judges at the Cardiff Property Awards said that the developers had “Rejuvenated an empty, iconic building with fresh character whilst paying homage to the projects’ history. The Moorwell creates many local benefits, including a gymnasium which delivers vital jobs and income to the area.”

The 12 properties consist of 4 layouts, with 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and duplexes available. Residents will benefit from secure on-site underground parking and a central private courtyard. Most apartments also have balconies.

The 1-bedroom apartments further benefit from being on the Help to Buy scheme, allowing purchasers to secure a unit with just a 5% deposit, with a shared equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price.
