Inspiring artwork by local primary school pupils will be showcased online by The Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay’s leading entertainment destination, throughout the New Year.

The ‘Hopes and Dreams for 2021’ project led by The Red Dragon Centre will display over two hundred pieces of art created by key stage two pupils at Mount Stuart Primary School.

After a tough year for many, The Red Dragon Centre team wanted to share uplifting messages and a positive outlook for the New Year. Eight classes from the nearby school submitted artwork for the exhibition, which will be shared online from January, with their wishes for 2021.

The showcase features a variety of hopes and dreams for the year ahead including spending time with family, the end of the coronavirus pandemic, Black Lives Matter and ending racism, plus a particular focus on sustainability, the environment and saving turtles.

Emma Constantinou, marketing manager at The Red Dragon Centre, said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the pupils’ efforts and are proud to display the inspirational words and artwork created throughout the New Year.”

Emma Borley, headteacher at Mount Stuart Primary School, said: “In a difficult year, our Mount Stuart pupils have provided some much-needed optimism and hope for the future as part of this project.”

The Red Dragon Centre has, this year, introduced a multitude of health and safety measures with the wellbeing of both visitors and staff at their heart.
