Resurfacing work planned between Waterton Roundabout and Police Headquarters
Essential resurfacing work will be carried out over the next two weeks on a section of Cowbridge Road in Bridgend as part of an ongoing programme of road and active travel improvements in the county borough.
From this evening (Monday 1 November), for a period of two weeks, there will be night-time closures from 7pm to 5am, between Waterton Roundabout and the South Wales Police Headquarters junction, opposite Tesco. The closure will also affect the York Road Bridgend Industrial Estate Junction.
Diversions will be in place with the route going through Bridgend Retail Park. Drivers are being warned to expect delays.
Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Stuart Baldwin said: “These works are part of the wider Bridgend to Pencoed active travel route. The route will help reduce congestion and pollution in the county borough by making walking and cycling safer and more accessible.
“We apologise for the temporary inconvenience that these works will cause to drivers. We would ask that drivers do not block any signal controlled junctions.
“Work will take place during off-peak hours to minimise disruption and carefully planned detour routes will be in place. We ask drivers for their understanding and patience while work is completed.”
