Robert Price Donate £600 of Supplies to Ysgol-Y-Graig Primary School’s Woodworking in Education Programme
Ysgol-Y-Graig Primary School in Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil, has received a generous donation of screws and nails worth £600 from local builders’ merchants Robert Price, helping to kickstart the school’s woodworking in education programme.
Serving students aged 3-11, the school is committed to providing its students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in the future.
When family-run Robert Price heard about Ysgol-Y-Graig’s plans to launch such a fantastic programme, they couldn’t wait to show their support.
“As a long-established Welsh business with a branch in Merthyr, we take great pride in supporting our local community”, said Robert Price Merthyr branch manager, Cheryl Bridges.
“We’re delighted to be able to help the school get their woodworking programme off the ground and to support this great cause!”
The screws and nails donated by Robert Price will be used by Ysgol-Y-Graig’s students to build a variety of projects. Woodworking is a valuable skill that teaches students about design, measurement, problem-solving, and patience, and it can also boost confidence and creativity, even at a young age.
Ysgol-Y-Graig teacher, Matt Howells, said of the donation:
“These will be hugely useful in the development of our woodworking provision! Woodwork is an amazing opportunity for children to develop their imagination and creativity.”
“Not only that, but it also gives them the chance to develop lifelong skills through learning experiences in which they use tools and refine their practical skills.”
