Newbridge-based Specialist Façade Inspections Ltd (SFI) has been shortlisted in the in the Family Business category of the South Wales Argus Business Awards 2022.

The cladding consultancy is a family business founded in 2019 by father and son duo Paul and Josh Tedstone and the consultancy provides full cladding fire testing and inspection services including external wall fire reviews to determine compliance with building safety regulations.

SFI faced a tough first year of operating, after the coronavirus pandemic hit just six months into trading and the fallout from the Grenfell disaster continued to uphaul the industry’s regulations.

But they continued to provide a service to their clients and have grown from completing one inspection every two weeks, to now completing at least four inspections every week.

Josh Tedstone, Director at SFI, said: “We’re very proud to have been announced as finalists in the South Wales Argus Business Awards. After a tough few years of trading, we’re happy to be celebrating reaching our three-year anniversary and this is the cherry on top of the cake.

“We are a local, family business that works to support local causes and our community wherever possible, so it’s great to be acknowledged in our local business awards.”

The awards ceremony takes place on 21 November.
