Swansea Primary School Benefits from £1k Amazon Donation
A Swansea primary school has received a £1,000 donation from the team at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in the city.
Danygraig Primary School offers a broad and balanced curriculum in a stimulating and nurturing environment. The school prides itself on its relationships with children, families and the wider Swansea community.
The donation from Amazon in Swansea will go towards playground equipment and outdoor learning areas.
Emily Thomas, an employee at Amazon in Swansea who nominated the school for support, said:
“I and many others at Amazon in Swansea have children attending Danygraig Primary School. I’m so pleased that Amazon has made this donation and I know it will be greatly appreciated by the school community.”
Dan Boulger, General Manager at Amazon in Swansea, said:
“We’re very pleased to donate to such a wonderful school in the local area. We’re confident that it offers great opportunities and a stellar education to our children, which we at Amazon take pride in supporting.”
Stuart Davies, Headteacher from Danygraig Primary School, added:
“We are so grateful to receive this donation from Amazon in Swansea and would like to extend our thanks to Christopher and the team for their support. The donation will assist us in creating a better space for the pupils’ break times.”
Community donations and employee volunteering are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK. Amazon provides students, teachers and parents with free computer science and STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer and has teamed up with charity partner Magic Breakfast to deliver more than seven million healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas of the country.
Earlier this year, Amazon partnered with Comic Relief to become the official home of the Red Nose. Amazon employees across the UK hosted fundraising activities and together with their customers and partners, raised £2.7 million to support those going through the toughest time of their lives.
