Taco Bell Opens to Rave Reviews – and Huge Queues – in Cardiff
Mexican chain restaurant, Taco Bell opened it’s first branch in Wales this week, and judging by the 5 hour long queues from fans keen to get a free t-shirt and experience the menu, it seems to have gone down a storm.
Ahead of the official launch, Taco Bell gave VIPs a sneak preview on Friday 27 Feb, where local journalists, celebrities and local dignitaries were able to sample the food first hand while the champagne helped them soak up the modern, vibrant, atmosphere.
The new menu includes light snacks like tacos and nacho fries, while those with bigger appetites will enjoy delights like burritos, a massive ‘chicken griller’ wrap and quesadilla stuffed with three different varieties of cheese – and as you’d expect, Tacos.
IT Engineer Mark Baker chose a spicy “volcano burrito” and fries smothered in nacho-cheese sauce, beef, sour cream and salsa. He said:
“I love Mexican food, and this is no exception, it’s brilliant! I’ve waited years for Taco Bell to come to Wales, so I’m not surprised there was a queue – glad I didn’t have to wait 5 hours though!”
The restaurant is already proving popular with guests of all ages, who can choose whether to take out or occupy one of the 49 seats inside. Mexican anyone?
