A non-profit construction network has raised an impressive sum for a respected local charity.

The Construction Club, based in Southwest Wales, has raised an incredible £3,000 for Swansea-based charity, Popham Kidney Support, through two successful fundraising events, delivering vital support to those affected by kidney disease across Wales.

The first event, the Winter Dinner, brought together construction industry professionals and supporters at the Village Hotel in Swansea for an evening of entertainment hosted by Sean Holley, featuring comedian Mike Bubbins.

Following this, the club hosted a breakfast at the Machynys Peninsula Golf Club and Spa in Llanelli, where guests were inspired by a powerful talk from Philippa Tuttiett, former International Rugby Union player and accomplished presenter.

The remarkable £3,000 raised will go directly to Popham Kidney Support, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people, and adults affected by kidney disease. The funds will help provide essential services, including peer support, counselling, health groups, and education programmes.

Joanne Popham, CEO of Popham Kidney Support, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled by the support shown by The Construction Club and everyone who attended these events. The funds raised will make a significant impact in delivering critical services and resources to those living with kidney disease across Wales. Thank you for making a difference.”

Jamie Lannen, Director of The Construction Club and Regional Director at Atkins Realis, said:

“We are incredibly proud to have played a part in raising these much-needed funds for Popham Kidney Support. The generosity of everyone involved in these events has been overwhelming, and we’re thrilled to see such a positive impact being made. Kidney disease affects so many lives, and we’re pleased to help the charity continue its invaluable work in supporting those affected across Wales.”

Since its founding in 2013, Popham Kidney Support has raised over £1 million, reaching thousands of individuals and families. The charity continues its mission to provide life-changing assistance and raise awareness of kidney health.
